Board of Education Sets Community Listening and Linking Sessions

The Racine Unified Board of Education will conduct a series of Listening and Linking sessions in November and December.
A session for representatives of the Racine Education Association, the Racine Educational Assistants Association, Service Employees International Union Local 152 and the Carpenters and Painters unions is scheduled for 4 p.m., Thursday Nov. 19 at the REA offices, 1201 West Blvd. A separate session for representatives of the Racine Administrators Association will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 24 at the Racine Unified Administrative Service Center conference room, 2220 Northwestern Ave.
A Tuesday, Dec. 1 session is scheduled for representatives of the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce, Racine County Economic Development Corp. and the Racine County Workforce Development Center. That session starts at noon at the Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce offices, 300 Fifth St.
The Listening and Linking sessions are a way for the Racine community to communicate directly with the Board of Education. Over time, this dialog adds value to the board’s actions and helps community members learn about what goes into the board’s decisions. The Board of Education is currently scheduling these sessions with various segments of the community to be held throughout the winter.
