Schools Join Forces to Present Fall Jazz Concert
(11/05/2009) The Washington Park High School Music Department and the Walden III High School Music Department will present their joint Fall Jazz Concert on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. in the Park High Auditorium, 1901 12th Street.
The concert will feature Park's two jazz bands and Walden's jazz band. Park Jazz Band I will be performing Chris Sharp's arrangement of What Were You Thinking, Paul Murha's arrangement of The Doors' Rider on the Storm, Paul Clark's arrangement of Go Ask Your Mother, and Mike Barone's arrangement of the great Beatles hit, Eleanor Rigby. Park Jazz Band II will be performing Fred Sturm's arrangement of Follow The Leader, Robert Curnow's ballad First Child, Greg Yasinitsky's arrangement of Green Sleeves, Mike Tomaro's Let's Face The Music And Dance, and Mark Taylor's composition Brown Dog.
Park High Jazz Bands are under the direction of Edward Bergles and Walden High Jazz Band is under the direction of Vanessa Marciniak.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the cost is $2 for adults and $1 for senior citizens and students. Children under six years old are admitted free.
