Fratt, built in 1916, is a neighborhood school that deeply involves all community residents. Fratt's school attendance is nestled in the midst of West Racine, home of many of Racine's Danish immigrants. In its mission statement, emphasis is placed on learning to read, stressing that "everything we do and every subject we teach hinges on the ability of our children to interpret the printed word."
