Knapp opened in 1911 and a building addition was completed in 1925. Located on a 3.4-acre site on Racine's southwest side, Knapp is the third largest elementary school in the district. Its preschool to grade 5 program offers a unique approach to addressing elementary students' needs. Its mission is "to provide the opportunities and fundamental skills to help students attain their highest level of performance potential through quality instruction."
