Jefferson Lighthouse is a magnet school for the "gifted and talented."  The program, called "Lighthouse" was designed in the late 1970s and based, in part, on Bloom's Taxonomy.  The central concept is to provide opportunities for students to apply, analyze, evaluate, and create in addition to building basic skills and content knowledge.  Our students are taught how to think about thinking.  In addition, Jefferson staff and parents are examining ways to further enhance the Lighthouse program.  Adding an international flavor, in preparation for our world economy, is at the forefront of our discussions.
