Mitchell, located on the southeast side, shares its campus with Mitchell Elementary. The school was built in 1937 as a WPA project, with an addition completed in 1974. Its beliefs include incorporating arts into the entire curriculum so students become more aware of themselves and their environment, with increased motivation to learn in all subjects; operating on the premise that students acquire knowledge through educationally sound instruction.
