Walden middle and high schools share the same building, located in the central city. The original part of the building was constructed in 1863. Walden III, a magnet school, draws a diverse student population. Its mission is to be student-centered, staff-driven; to use individualized performance assessment; to find ways to motivate each student; to create a family atmosphere; to have personal relationships with students and their families.
